Monthly passes are available in both pass form and in The HOP App.
To validate age, a driver’s license or similar photo ID are accepted. For Medicare, proof of Medicare eligibility is accepted. For people with disabilities, proof of the disability from agencies such as the VA or other governmental agencies is accepted. For students, a copy of school ID card or documents that show the person is a student and verifies the dates the person is enrolled is accepted.
Exact change is required for cash fare payment. Monthly passes are available at the HOP office, which entitle the user to unlimited rides during a 31-day period in which the card is valid, for $50.
Multi-Ride tickets and monthly passes can be received by U S Postal Service delivery. Payment must be sent in the form of a cashiers check, money order, or similar form – no personal checks are accepted. Payment with credit or debit card payments available over the phone with Customer Service. For more information on purchase by mail, call 254.933.3700 x5010.
The HOP Regional Commuter will issue limited use transfers to passengers as they board if the passenger requests the transfer when boarding. Transfers will not be issued after the passenger is seated or when the passenger gets off the bus – transfers are issued only when boarding and when requested. These transfers are free, and are limited to use only on the day issued, and for a limited time to allow passengers to continue a one directional trip without additional fare. Restrictions on use are printed on the transfer.
Fare capping is based on your Rider profile (adult or reduced) and the services you use. Your account tracks daily usage, and once you’ve paid the equivalent of a round trip for each service used, the rest of your rides that day are free for the account holder. Companions are required to pay their fares each time.
What do our fare caps look like:
• Microtransit: Adult $4 / Reduced $2
• Demand Response: Adult $8 / Reduced $4
• Regional Commuter: Fare capping applies only when it’s part of a multimodal trip using transfer passes
Example:
If you’re an adult rider and only use microtransit, your daily cap is $4. If you use both demand response and microtransit in one day, your cap is $12 ($8 + $4).
Fare capping makes it easier to combine trips, skip the stress of driving, and save money — all in one day. Additionally, The HOP also provides weekly and monthly fare caps. This is just one more way The HOP is helping make transportation more affordable for our community.
For questions, please contact customer support and they would be happy to help you plan your next trip and understand the associated fare.
